So its the last race of the season before you know it. Osherleben is a 6 hour drive east into Germany for us. A long drive but worth it as I like the circuit very much, which is strange because the previous two visits have not been succesful. This time on the back of a resonable ride at Assen I hoped to do a little better.

Training: First session (Sunday evening) was ok but tyres were very second hand after the endurance at Zandvoort. New tyres fitted just in time for morning session, so spent the laps srubbing the tyres in.

ZAC 24th September Osherleben

Qualifying: I was really to cautious and set a poor time. Some 1,5 seconds slower than best lap in 2006. Result, 13th and back on row 4.

Race 1. My usual start saw me drop back to 18th at the end of lap 1. Throughout the race my lap times improved and I slow moved up the order. By the end I had improved to 14th but was in a group of 5 riders competing for a top ten finish. During the race two of my friends crashed out. Neither hurt badly thank goodness but their bike looked more than a little second hand. My best lap time was a 3,5 second improvement from 2006 :)

Race 2. A better start came to a quick end as the bike in front of me stalled! I though I would run straight into the back of himbut somehow we missed. Something felt different with the bike and I was losing traction everywhere. We later found the rear tyre had a puncture. Finished 18th.
